Work
Order: NENC 065-01
Division: Freight Operations
Time: 09:30
Season: Summer
Weather: Clear
Duration: 4hrs +
Train: NERR GP30 #3019
Class: 1
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Your
leased GP30 #3019 is sitting on US Navy Track 3 in
an industrial area in downtown Washington DC, not
far from Judiciary Square. Over the next four-plus
hours, you’ll be travelling the length of the NEC to
the US Navy piers in Philadelphia.
Pick-up the Stackers on US Navy track 2,
beside you, and take them up out through the trunk
line and onto the mainline. Watch your speed
carefully as you take these wagons down to the
Savage Yards at MP 110 where you’ll drop them on
Track 1.
Just
over on the Public Delivery Track, you’ll see
some chemical tankers. Pick them up, get back onto
the mainline and journey down to MP 98 where you’ll
switch off onto an industrial siding. Find the Dow
Chemicals warehouses and drop the tankers on Dow
Chemicals Track 5.
Back
up onto the mainline again at MP 95 for a short trip
until you switch off onto another industrial siding.
Locate Baltimore Pier 2
and pick-up the Wade Hoppers there. The Army people
assure us that they’re safe to transport but be
extra careful, anyway.
Make
your way back onto the mainline at MP95. Take the
hoppers down to MP 66 where you’ll switch off onto
the siding at the US Army Aberdeen Proving
Grounds. It’s a fair jaunt down to where you’ll
find the warehousing facility. Set-out the hoppers
on Track 4
After dropping-off the hoppers, you’ll need to
manually throw the switches on the
wye so that you can back
onto the Box Cars on the Bomb Storage Line.
As you can see, you’ll have an armed escort riding
in the Caboose on this leg.
Back
onto the mainline again. Do not exceed 40MPH with
this load!! It’s a long leg, this time – all the way
into Philadelphia where you’ll switch off onto a
siding at MP3.
After going through a labyrinth of
trackage, you’ll
eventually see your destination over on your right:
US Navy Yard Track 5. First, though, we’ve
got to get the train turned around, so follow the
path until you’ve returned, able to back into Track
5. Then, just pull forward onto Track 1 to
end this run.
