For this
activity you will be using the
Mikado #900.
Ones again the
old Mikados
are pulled into freight service.
Your task is to pick up two
consists of full logger cars at
the logging area just outside Mt.
Epraim
and pull them to
the sawmill
near
Sarahville. The Mikado is
not that powerful so you must plan
your steam production well in
order to be able to contend with
the many grades of the track. Take
extra care to maximize steam
production when exiting
Reiner
so you have enough steam to
contend with the long steep grade
after Reiner.
When arriving at the
wye
track next to the sawmill it is a
good idea to split the two logger
consists again before attempting
to move over to
the sawmill.
If you try to pull all twelve cars
over to the
sawmill at ones you will
end up down in
Sarahville
and you will have to split the
train there to be able to bring it
up to the sawmill.
Clearances:
You are clear
from the logging area to
the sawmill
from 2:00 p.m.
You must enter
the southbound main track before
2:20 p.m.
