-------------------------------------------------

Some general information about this series of WO's. This will be old news for most, but just in case..

There are many pitfalls: especially Red's, some of which you will get permission to pass, some you will not. The way MSTS operates, usually if you are going into a siding with cars already there, you will get a red with 0mph. When you tab for permission and go through it, you will get a 15mph speed limit that is not forewarned. This is another reason to sometimes (only if you have a path leading into a siding) leave the cars completely before the switch, so when you come out of the siding and reattach to your train, you will get a clear speed limit after the switch rather than 15mph for the next two miles. If you have a stop and proceed with 25mph it will usually inform you in the track monitor if you use it.

Also there is a lot of front coupling with these. I've found the following a tried and true method, at least for my machine, since I had only one crash in testing the entire series and it was my fault. The following seems to work for me:

When using the front coupler, hit it very soft and as soon as contact is made, reverse (even if eventually going forward) and that will pull the cars into you safely. When uncoupling, MR has done a beautiful job on the GP38's  acceleration factors and if you have even one car attached, simply uncouple in the F9 window, notch 1 and it will slowly pull away. If unloaded completely, I've found application of 30% Independent (loco) brake, then notch 1 and slowly release the loco brake until it just crawls away and it will uncouple every time. If you have more cars than will show in the window, simply do one window's worth at a time.

In this series, there are a couple of 2-3 minute waits for traffic. If you have to wait over 5 minutes, there is usually something wrong.

Now to get on with the series.

-------------------------------------------------

NOTES: This is a way freight switching the M&RM Eastbound heading for Nuggett on a dreary rainy day. Should be very little traffic with just a few small industries in 77 miles, so with the exception of being slightly underpowered, this should be a piece of cake. If you have your Supply of Coffee and rainsuits, let's go ..

-------------------------------------------------

You are fueled and ready to go. You have just enough power to make it, but you will have to use it wisely. Don't forget it's raining and sand may be necessary at times.

Pickup your consist to the right of you on M&RM Lead South. The Brakeman is setting the switches for you. You are cleared for the main at 8:03.

We are servicing Marquets first. I would suggest:

Go straight in on Steel 1. Drop container #0.

Run around, picking up #32770-0,1,2

then put the 3 flats #32780-1,2,3 by the building on Tools Out

Then Schloggerville Brewery. Once again I would suggest

Back in and drop the box #32780-6 on grain track

Setout Tankers #32780-4,5 at Beverage Out under spigots

then Pickup #32769-0,1,2 at supplies

getting box #32780-6 on grain track and setting out at Supplies

Finally picking up the remaining grain cars #32768-0,1

Head for main to swap consists, putting the ones on the main at the front followed by the mostly empty pickups

and finally heading East for BWF Lumber

Speed limits are:

15 yard

30 Sidings

45 Main unless otherwise posted

30 on 10degree or sharper switches

They are rigidy enforced so be careful

Hope you enjoy your trip

NOTES: In the WO box it will show the wrong actions completed or not completed until your evaluation, but you will receive verification/instructions for each set and drop letting you know you were successful by telling you where they go.
