This is part 2 of 4 -
Running the Jacks Meadows to Valley Mining local with
empties and loaded coming back. A
tough daily run to satisfy requirements of the JM
Power Station. Be careful of the
grades ..
or you'll be picking cotton
rather than running a train. Also keep the loadmeter
out of the red ..
it can be done if you keep
your speed up

Pickup empties on Mining
track to your left. I would suggest bringing them all
to the main, then swapping the engine and box car to
keep the two engines and box at the front before
putting the remainder of them in front of the train..
You will have to wait to get the remainder of the
train and proceed.
You are cleared for the
main after the VM_NU 85 unit train has passed. Usually
about 11:46 if they are on time.
All of the switching is
done for you after leaving Gold Run to make it easier.
Just be sure you clear the reverse points in Valley
Mining.
MP 36 - 34 is the ruling
grade for the ADF, so descending set your dynamics
early, or you'll lose it.
Valley Mining Siding
East, suggest keeping about
27mph with dynamics set between 60-65% and you
shouldn't even need the train brakes.
At Klosens Ridge, we're
behind a long coal train so there may be some delays.
You can keep an eye on it in various places as you
descend into the mine from Valley Mining Siding.
We are stopping at Ghost
Valley to pick up some needed LCL supplies for Valley
Mining. If we don't, sometimes they'll wait a week
before it finally gets there.
At approx MP 11 there is
a temporary speed reduction. They had some problems
earlier and are waiting for the MOW to take care of
it.
You will take the box to
the Engine house where this part will terminate.
General Speedlimits:
15mph - yards and Gold
Run siding
30mph - 10degree or
tighter crossovers
