NEDF109X01e-CC-EF-EB - Continuing from Saratoga Springs with the Auto Cars and Containers heading towards EF Auto and Nuggett. There are no autocars going into EF, only coming out loaded to head East and North. The boxes/containers (which we will switch out in a later activity) have supplies needed by the Auto complex.

Reassemble Containers from the West yard lead first, then the AutoCars on WB 1

Head for North Fork

Drop specified Containers at North Fork on Yard South 2

 

EF Auto - Setout the containers on EB Storage 2, Pickup the Auto Cars on Storage 1

Do not block the crossing before there since we have some antsy motorists. Also, you are responsible for your own switches. Using the briefing and WO, there are various ways of doing this and thought you might enjoy picking your own method. You can either pull in and see-saw back, or go straight forward and back straight in with the cars to be left, or .. :-)

 

When you have your WO completed, continue West and South to the main Intersection. The activity will end when you pull up to the last signal before the main

 

NOTES: Speed limit as posted except:

30mph on 10 degree crossovers and sidings off of main.

15mph in yards

 

At EF, no matter how you choose to do the switching at EFAuto, keep at least part of your train inside of the outside signals or you will have a permanent red. Also, you have a restricted speed limit leaving EFAuto until your entire train has passed the outside signal and 45mph speed limit.

 

The reason for using these 'beasts' (ac6000's) when there is switching to do, is to keep from tying up the many units that would be needed to get over the ridges between Saratoga and Nuggett in a reasonable amount of time. Even if one of these go down, the other two can get the train clear of the main to keep traffic flowing.

 

An approximate schedule would be:

 

15:35 - Enter Main ( wait on AI)

15:43 - Bogville

15:50 - Hampton

15:55 - North Fork in

16:08 - North Fork out

16:17 - Woodgrove

16:24 - East Fork Auto
