Work Order: NEDF-109-10-GASO-EB02bLite (Lite version but simply enter as original on time slip) See bottom of file

Time:  3:45pm

Season: Summer

Weather: Clear

Duration: 1hr 27min

Train: 484#222

Class: 1

----

For today, in honor of the Great American Smoke Out, ADF is using period motive power, doing with today's cars, what they did for years in their own time. Makes for interesting AI, even if completely fictional! Also, most of the sidings are full since anything not essential is off the track today with only the display and excursion equipment out and about. After all the chaos with the derailment between here and CC, things are finally settling down. Since the original ADF Excursion Train came through yesterday, there are only two stops and these are historical and photo-ops, not to pickup passengers.

---

#350 has just left the station in front of us headed for Saratoga, but has been having some problems. We're assigned behind just in case.

---

Schedule:

16:22 Jacks Meadow McDonalds (Station)

16:43 Monkeys EyeBrow Trestle

17:12 Saratoga Springs

----

NOTES:

Keep in mind the best passenger pickup time will be as much as -0.05 past the station. I put the center of the train right at the middle of the platform to get shortest loading except obviously at Saratoga Springs.

Restricted speeds:

30mph crossovers and sidings - Skilleys, Jacks Meadow and Monkeys Eyebrow

Otherwise there are no restricted speeds, except for the historical bridge at Monkeys Eyebrow, which is 10mph and the ME siding which is 30mph, not 40 as listed. Keep the ole girl at 70-73mph and have an enjoyable drive

Critical Meets:

Starting with yellows and reds until Skilleys

Jacks Meadow - Passed by CRU - Pull up to signal enough to clear the 'waiting point' then stop and wait for Police unit to go by. Should be on your way around 16:28 or so depending on when you get there. MAKE SURE YOU ARE CLEAR OF THE UN-SIGNALLED INTERSECTION FROM JM Power or you will be 'T-Boned' and end of activity. The timing is close, but that's the way it is.

Monkeys Eyebrow - Maintain less than 30mph, 15mph on the bridge, and pull up to the East signal to clear waiting point. Same routine as above, only this time it will take much longer to clear since you will be following the BigBoy in. Should be coming through around 16:52 and clearing for the first signal about 16:54. Then at the bottom of the hill is a second signal only .5 mile from the first, so beware or it will catch you sleeping. It's not an emergency stop, but it will take 10-15lbs of air to stop if you are cooking through there.

LITE VS. REGULAR VERSION

The only differences between these two activities are a majority of the static consists and all but a few of the AI are missing in the lite. I had a lot of trouble with this one at Skilleys, so ended up not taking the remainder of the cars in, but just picking up the passengers and taking them. Even doing that, there is so much to be loaded in that one area (most of Bailey is on the same or adjoining tile, including half the mountain, Perkins, plus Midland Stock etc., and there was just too much going on for my little PIII 800 to keep up with comfortably) so thought there may be others with the same problem. That's the reason for the "Lite" version also. Try the regular first and if you can make it about 12 miles past Skilleys, you've got it in the bag.

Hope you have enjoyed this series as much as I've enjoyed (most of the time) putting them together. Will see you later down the track somewhere ;-)
