After starting in Walton at 8:00 am and making set outs and pick ups at Hercules Powder and Radford Army Ammunition Plant you arrived here around 10:00 am. A few cups of coffee later the dispatcher has decided that you will continue on with 1011, the westbound local.

 

As the eastbound local moves past the engineer toots his horn and waves. He's smiling because he's almost done for the day but you have a ways to go yet.

 

This leg is just a short hop along the river bank. We will make one stop in Eggleston to pick up a string of mixed cars for delivery on down the line.

 

The grade is easy along here so keep your speed up. We should meet the daily passenger run just after MP 302 where we will take the Ripplemead passing track. He should be departing Ripplemead around 10:32 and we don't want to keep him waiting.

 

This work order will end as we slow just prior to rejoining the main at Potts Valley Junction.
