If you are
going to be a part of the
North
Eastern Railroad,
staying active should be important. Staying active ensures that our railroad
will live. If you can not commit to the hours per month you say you can when
you apply for a position, then
North
Eastern Railroad
is not for you.
Requirements are minimal:
There are
NERR Work Orders (Activities are known as Work Orders at the NERR) that range from 15 minutes to 10 hours. Which one you choose
is up to you. A standard procedure for one month, to stay active, would be
to run 2 NERR Work Orders, (30 minutes min.), check the message forums 2 times a week for News or Railroad
Work Orders such as a group Chats, and possibly post a new message or reply,
(5-10 minutes twice a week = 20-40 minutes a month). Attempt to participate
in Group Chats, (usually 1-1½ hours per month). Chats and the Forums are for
you to help
North
Eastern Railroad
serve our needs. Input has to come from everyone in order to make it an
enjoyable experience. (Note the above is just an example, it is not a
criteria that you MUST follow, it is merely an example to show how minimal
the time amount required per month is to be an active member.)
From the
above you can see that approximately 2½-3 hours per month is needed to stay
active. When you apply for a position with
North
Eastern Railroad,
someone has to read your application, send you a confirmation Email, wait
for your reply to the confirmation letter, send you your acceptance letter,
edit the Engineer's Roster web pages, publish the updated page, enter your
information into the engineer's database and assign you an ID number.
Following that, the NEO Manager
will monitor your progress through the automated New Engineer
Orientation Program, respond to your questions, check your completed work, keep Orientation records,
etc., before transferring your successful application for full NERR staff
status. Several NERR staff are making considerable effort for you to join
our ranks. Please do not abuse their time.
We at
North Eastern Railroad
understand everyone has a life and things do change in people's
circumstances. Although the guidelines may seem rigid to some, they are not
intended to be. Three hours a month is minimal, but we will work with you if
problems may arise. Feel free to contact the NERR
Human Resources Director if there are
issues that will affect your regular time commitment to NERR.
Remember you do not HAVE to do anything EXCEPT have fun.
Once
you have reached full NERR staff status after your Orientation Period:
-
You should
complete at least two NERR Work Orders a month to stay active - if you
fall behind, you will be warned after 60 days and then given a final
warning after about 75 days - failure to meet your commitment after that
will result in deletion from the membership of the NERR;
-
The two
required NERR Work Orders should be downloaded from NETS;
-
You can only
receive Callboard credit for running NERR Work Orders;
-
In order to
receive Callboard credit, you must fill out a
NERR Time Slip Reporting
Form (Form-T) for each completed Work Order. When submitting your
T-form, click on the Submit Button once only!;
-
Do not send
in game saved evaluation reports that are .RTF files, unless so requested;
-
Be sure to
report any Incidents, as defined below;
-
You may be
active in more than one Virtual Railroad;
-
You should
be active in the Forums;
-
You should
read the new messages in the Forums at least twice a week;
-
You should
try to make Group Chats;
-
Respond to

Promote our
