Diesel Certification Course Syllabus
Course Manager: John Hodgkinson.
Course Length: 8 weeks. This the maximum length that can be taken to complete the course. Participants can progress through the course at the rate that best suits them. Failure to complete the course successfully within the 8 week period from the date of allocation to the course will result in the engineer not being permitted to re-apply for the course for a period of one year from the end of the 8 week period.
Course Registration: To register for the course, send an email to the Course Manager. You will be notified by email when and if you have been approved to participate in the course. A waiting list of applicants will be maintained.
Course Participation: The number of participants in the course will be limited to 10 at any one time. As a participant completes the course, another participant will be added by the Course Manager.
Places in the program will be allocated as follows:
2 places - members with more than 2 years' membership of an NERR Network Railroad.
3 places - members with 1 - 2 years' membership of an NERR Network Railroad.
3 places - members with 6 months to 1 year's membership of an NERR Network Railroad.
2 places - members with less than 6 months' membership of an NERR Network Railroad.
If there is a spare place in the course, new participants will be added so as to maintain the proportions of participants in the above list. If there is no applicant available from the particular category, an applicant from the next category down the list will be added.

Activity Completion Report <== Go here to report completed Practical Exercises. You must include the Activity Evaluation Report from MSTS for each activity in the appropriate box in this report.

One of the functions of this week's activities is to test your ability to identify the equipment needed within an activity. For this reason, the equipment needed is not listed here. It is your responsibility to identify the equipment you need. Once you have identified the equipment you need but do not have installed, you should go to the NERR website --> login to NETS --> Roster and download the equipment.
