Welcome to the North Eastern Railroad Certification Centre (NERCC). The courses offered here contain all the information that is required to pass each phase of the NERR Certification Program.


General Requirements:

The current course requirements are as follows:

1. Membership in an NERR Network Railroad is MANDATORY for all courses.

NERR Network Railroads are defined as being one of the following:

2. For the Diesel Certification Course:
  1. Successful completion of the WCN New Member Orientation.
  2. Successful completion of 20 NERR Network Railroad work orders.
3. For the Steam Certification Course:
  1. Successful completion of the WCN New Member Orientation.
  2. Successful completion of 20 NERR Network Railroad work orders.
  3. Completion of the Steam Firing Tutorial.
  4. Completion of the Diesel Certification Course.

Specific Prerequisites:

  1. You must be registered for a specific course in order to become certified. Your registration must be approved in writing by the relevant Course Manager. Numbers in each course will be set by the Course Manager.

  2. For both the diesel and steam certification courses, you must have the Ohio & West Virginia (aka Bodiddly), version 10, route installed. This route can be downloaded from AVSim.com. You must register at AVSim (registration is free) to download the route files (or10_1_105634.zip [49863 kb] and or10_2.zip [32585 kb] for the route plus 1 patch or_b10_v1.zip [3255 kb].

  3. The passenger certification courses use the NEC4 route. This route can be downloaded from Train-Sim.com. You must register at Train-Sim (registration is free) to download the route files (necv4.zip [30,925,749 bytes]).
